Closing Bell: Sensex Rises 428 Points To End At 41,009.71, Nifty Closes Near 12,100

Domestic equity indices Sensex and Nifty rallied for the third consecutive day and ended on a positive note on the back of supporting global cues. The BSE benchmark Sensex finished 428 points or 1.05 per cent higher at 41009.71. Similarly, the broader NSE Nifty settled 114.90 points, or 0.96 per cent, higher at 12086.70.

Vedanta, Axis Bank, State Bank of India, and Maruti Suzuki were the top gainers among the Sensex pack. Whereas, Bharti Airtel, Bajaj Auto, and Asian Paints were the top laggards. On the other hand, on the Nifty pack, Axis Bank, Vedanta, Coal India, Hindalco Industries and SBI were among major gainers.
