HDFC Bank website, mobile app not working for second day in a row; shocked account holders vent ire

HDFC Bank mobile app and website are down for the second day in a row and many customers have taken to the social media platforms to complain about the same. The services have not been working since Monday morning and have left many customers agitated. “I am unable to login to net banking. I need to pay my credit card bill. Please restore service on time. @HDFCBank_Cares,” a user name Parth Pandey tweeted. Some users even shared a screenshot of the website showing that they were unable to log in to that.

We tried to check the status of both the HDFC Bank mobile app and HDFC Bank internet banking facility. While the app and the website seem to work perfectly fine and allow you to switch between tabs, we too were unable to log in to the account and access bank’s services. The bank had even admitted that there is a glitch which it is trying to resolve.

In a tweet on Monday, HDFC Bank had said that its experts are working to resolve the issue on top priority. However, customers continue to face trouble even 24 hours later.

“Due to a technical glitch, some of our customers have been having trouble logging into our net banking and MobileBanking App. Our experts are working on it on top priority, and we’re confident we’ll be able to restore services shortly. While we deeply regret the inconvenience caused, there’s no cause for undue concern,” HDFC Bank tweeted to calm the customers.

Notably, as December 1 was a Sunday, several employees had got their salary on December 2 – the first working day of the month. But, as they tried to log in to check their account balance, they were met with a response reading: “Dear User, The NetBanking system is busy processing heavy load from currently logged in customers, request to try after some time. Thank you for your cooperation”.

HDFC Bank has 4.5 crore customers and at least half of them use its digital channels.
