New Delhi, June 13: Wednesday’s Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi nodded a number of projects, MoUs which could help the nation to catch the track of development in all terms fast. Let us scroll down the decisions taken by the Cabinet.

Was apprised of the signing of Lotter of Intent (LOI) between India and Costa Rica in the field of Biotechnology.

Was apprised of an MoU on the cooperation between India and Bolivia on cooperation regarding Bioceanic Railway Integration Corridor Project.

Was apprised of an MoU on the cooperation in the area of Cyber Security between India and Finland.

Was apprised of an MoU on the cooperation between Research Designs and Standards Organisation, under the Ministry of Railways, India and Railway Research Institute, Russia and Research and Design Institute for Information Technology, Signalling and Telecommunication on Railway Transport, Russia.

Has approved a Memorandum of Collaboration (MoC) between India and Kyrgyzstan for collaborative research work on High Altitude Biology and Medicine and aiming at further development and strengthening of mutual relationships in science and medicine, especially in high altitude biology and medicine.

Was apprised of an MoU on the cooperation between India and Thailand in the field of Astronomy / Astrophysics / Atmospheric Science.

Has approved to introduce a Bill, namely, the Special Economic Zones (Amendment) Bill, 2019 that is the Bill to replace the Special Economic Zones (Amendment) Ordinance, 2019 (12 of 2019). The Bill will be introduced in the ensuing session of the Parliament.

Has approved a Memorandum of Understanding in the field of Legal Metrology between India and Kyrgyzstan. The MoU will be signed on the sidelines of SCO from June 13-14, 2019.

Has approved the signing and ratification of a bilateral investment treaty between India and Kyrgyzstan.

Has approved the ratification of the Multilateral Convention to Implement Tax Treaty Related Measures to Prevent Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (MLI)

Has approved the proposal of the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare for signing an MoU between the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare of the Republic of India and the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic in the field of Health.

Has approved the draft Homoeopathy Central Council(Amendment) Bill, 2019.

NDA Government led by Prime Minister Modi is committed to the all-round development of the people from different walks of life. In keeping with this spirit and the need to have equitable distribution of benefit amongst the OBC Castes/Communities, a Commission was set up under article 340 of the Constitution to examine the issue of sub-categorization within Other Backward Classes in the Central list.

In a crackdown on the unauthorised occupants of residential accommodations in public premises, the Union Cabinet, chaired by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, has given a go-ahead to introduce “The Public Premises (Eviction of Unauthorised Occupants) Amendment Bill, 2019”.

In order to make the Dental Council of India more effective, the Union Cabinet, chaired by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, has approved the introduction of a Bill to amend the Dentists Act, 1948 (16 of 1948). The decision also gives effect, with certain modifications, to the provisions of the Dentists Act, 1948 with regard to the membership of the Dental Council of India and membership of State and Joint State Dental Councils.

Giving a major push to the reforms in Education sector, making it inclusive and keeping in mind the aspirations of the people from different categories, the Union Cabinet, chaired by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, has approved the introduction of a Bill namely “The Central Educational Institutions (Reservation in Teachers’ Cadre) Bill, 2019”.

Making India as the hub of International Arbitration has been one of the pioneering initiatives of the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi led NDA Government. Setting up of an independent an autonomous regime for institutionalized domestic and international arbitration is a step in this direction.
