Punjab candidate gets only 5 votes, says there are 9 members in his own family – Watch

While the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) swept the elections on May 23, crossing 50 percent vote share in 13 states and union territories, a candidate in the state of Punjab is having to deal with the shock of receiving of just 5 votes in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Neetu Shuttern Wala, who stood as an independent candidate from Jalandhar in the recently held polls, said he received only 5 votes despite having 9 members in his own family.

When Wala was interviewed by Punjabi daily Jag Bani, he broke down in front of the camera and started crying. He said he received 5 votes and his own family members betrayed him.

Apart from blaming his family, Wala also accused the EVM machines of tampering.

The reporter, on the other hand, tried his best to get interesting answers from Wala. “When your own family doesn’t support you, how can you expect outsiders to help you?” asked the reporter.

As expected, the video quickly went viral after it was shared on Twitter and Facebook
