Billy Stanlake withdrawn from Yorkshire stint due to national commitments
Billy Stanlake, who was ruled out of the ongoing Indian Premier League 2018 with an injured finger, has been withdrawn by Cricket Australia from his County stint with Yorkshire due to future national commitments.
The tall fast bowler was scheduled to partake in 12 T20 games for Yorkshire in the T20 Blast. He was also expected to miss the first two games of the competition as a result of Australia participating in the tri-series in Zimbabwe to be held in July this year.
Stanlake, who bagged five scalps at 26 for SRH this season, could also be selected for the proposed Australia ‘A’ tour of India later this year, comprising four-day and limited overs games.
“There’s an Australia A tour to India where there’s a couple of four-day games,” Justin Langer said on today. “I imagine we might leave our selection for Pakistan (in) the UAE quite late, use that build-up and use that match practice. I’d suggest it might be a pretty strong Australia A team going to India,” he added.
